get your recognition

Each year, the industry's very best work is honored by the American Advertising Awards. Started right here in AAF District 4 in 1960 and dedicated to celebrating the creative spirit of our industry, it's one of the longest running creative competitions for advertising.

Over 30,000 entries come in to local chapter competitions each year. The best progress to district competitions. And the winners from the district competition compete in the national American Advertising Awards during the AAF annual conference, ADMERICA.

Every ADDY-winning entry starts as an entry into your local competition. Enter your work where your office or operations are based. And to save on every single entry, become a member of your local AAF chapter. AAF member entries are significantly discounted versus entering as a non-member.

about the awards

Attracting nearly 30,000 professional entries each year nationwide, the American Advertising Awards is among the world’s largest and most comprehensive advertising competitions.

The competition originated here in the AAF Fourth District in 1960 and became a three-tiered National competition in 1968.

Sponsored by the AAF, the awards honor excellence in advertising and cultivate the highest creative standards in the industry. Each Fall, the competition begins with contests in the nation’s 130 AAF local chapters, where entries must be submitted and judged to be eligible for the three-tier competition. Local winners proceed to 15 regional competitions, and those winners, to the national finals.

Every year’s winners demonstrate the uniqueness of the American Advertising Awards because their work has not only received national honors, but has been recognized at local and regional levels as well.

Local Awards Shows Make the Ad Industry a Better Place to Work... they bring the community together, help small agencies make a name for themselves, celebrate the entire team, improve the work we do and inspire the next generation.

Proceeds from the American Advertising Awards program on all levels of competition go back into the industry through the work of the AAF and its members, especially in the areas of advertising education and public service advertising.

It's no longer a question of whether you're good or not. With an American Advertising Award, you know you are.
