Honoring the very best in public service advertising

Conducted by the American Advertising Federation District 4, the Angel Awards combine two important AAF missions: using our industry’s expertise to address community issues and celebrating excellence in advertising.

Unlike traditional creative competitions, the Angels look beyond the work itself to consider the need it addressed, how that need was met, and the results it achieved.

Entry is open to all advertising service providers, public service organizations, and special interest causes and groups located throughout Florida and the Caribbean. AAF membership is not required to submit.

What Qualifies as Public Service Advertising?

Public service advertising has as its goal the improvement of the public’s health, education, and/or welfare. Eligible work may include paid client work, pro bono projects, work created by non-profit or in-house teams, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that raise awareness of social, ethical, health, or environmental issues.

If your work helped raise awareness, educate a community, encourage positive behavior change, generate support or funding, or advance a cause that serves the public good, it may qualify for an Angel!

One Entry. Multiple Award Opportunities

The Angel Awards feature a unique entry format designed to make entering simple. Rather than submitting a campaign across multiple categories, enter your work once.

Submissions may include a complete multi-medium campaign, multiple related executions, or a single, standalone piece. Judges then consider the need, solution, execution, and results, with an emphasis on the demonstrated impact. Each individual creative element is also evaluated on its own merits and may receive recognition.

That means judges may recognize the campaign, individual executions within it, or both—so a single campaign entry may be awarded multiple Angels.

Entry Categories

Entries are to be submitted in a single public service category.

Organization or Cause Promotion

Work that raises long-term awareness, participation, or support for an organization, initiative, or public service cause.

Public Health & Safety Education

Work that educates audiences, raises awareness, or encourages immediate behavioral changes that improve public health, safety, or well-being.

Fundraising Events & Initiatives

Work designed to generate donations, participation, sponsorships, or other resources in support of an organization or cause.

Other

Public service work that doesn’t fit neatly into one of the categories above.

Don’t overthink your category. The Angels intentionally use broad categories rather than requiring entrants to divide their work among numerous classifications based on medium or execution. The most important question is whether the work serves the public good.

Ready to Enter?

For each entry, you’ll tell us:

  • What did the client or cause need?

  • What was created?

  • What were the results?

Complete campaign submissions should also include a results synopsis or case study of up to 350 written words or a 5-minute video. Campaign results and case studies are considered in the selection of Best of Show.

Work must have first appeared between January 1, 2024 and August 31, 2026.

Please note that work previously recognized with an Angel Award is not eligible for resubmission. Each piece of work may receive Angel Award recognition only once.

Entry Fee: $130 per entry
Entry Deadline: September 20, 2026
