mission and history
The American Advertising Federation protects and promotes the well-being of advertising. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., it acts as the “Unifying Voice for Advertising.”
The AAF is the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 40,000 professionals in the advertising industry. It's a national network of over 200 local professional chapters and more than 225 college chapters across the country.
The AAF also has nearly 100 blue-chip corporate members that are advertisers, agencies and media companies, comprising the nation’s leading brands and corporations.
District 4 is one of 15 District affiliates of the national the national American Advertising Federation (AAF) organization. The AAF 4th District is comprised of 19 local federations throughout Florida and the Caribbean representing nearly 1,000 members.
This is a grassroots network of advertisers, agencies, media companies, local advertising clubs and college chapters. Our membership is open to professionals in all disciplines of the advertising profession.
District 4 has a long history of contributions made to the advertising industry. Most notably we created the American Advertising Awards competition in 1960, which is now the largest creative competition in the world.
The AAF District 4 public service initiative provides support to charitable organizations from around the State of Florida and Caribbean. Our members devote countless hours of volunteer time and top-level resources to better the communities we live in.
Through our current initiative, The Plastic Brigade, our members are attacking the invasion of plastic in our environment. Through a series of community clean-up events, AAF members are removing plastic and other waste from waterways throughout the state of Florida and the Caribbean islands.
